What measures have Al-Shazia implemented in their workplace?
We have implemented a series of preventative health measures for our colleagues at our warehouse, our store and our offices — everything from increasing the frequency and intensity of cleaning to adjusting our practices in order to ensure the recommended social distancing guidelines. Alhamdulillah, none of our employees have had any symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19.

What is the coronavirus situation like in South Africa?
Our businesses are based in Durban, where the number of coronavirus cases is very low. The South African government has taken some of the strictest measures in the world to prevent the spread of the virus and to return life back to normal as soon as possible.

Can I catch the virus from a package?

• There are no known cases of the virus being spread by contact with a package.

• We package and send our goods from our warehouse in Durban and typically the transit time is at least 3/5 days before the package reaches you.

• Recent scientific studies have shown that the virus cannot survive that long on clothing or packaging.

The World Health Organization has said the likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low and the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package that has been moved, travelled, and exposed to different conditions and temperatures is also low. It is unlikely the virus can survive long in transit and the chances of getting Coronavirus from delivered packages is minimal.

Can I receive contact-free delivery from your courier The Courier Guy?
Yes, The Courier Guy will deliver your order contact-free. They will maintain a 2-metre distance from you leaving the package at arms-length and they will sign the package for you once you have received it. In addition, The Courier Guy have hygiene protocols in place that are in line with suggested government measures and they are also following social-distancing and disinfecting protocols within their workplace and deliveries. We however do not control the Covid protocol of The Courier Guy and will not be liable for any Covid-19 malpractice committed by their employees.

Have The Courier Guy implemented Safety Procedures for Covid19 in their workplace?

• Yes, The Courier Guy have implemented a number of Health and Safety Procedures for Covid19 Since inception of Covid19 regulations

• The Courier Guy drivers are instructed to avoid close contact and wash their hands frequently.

• All document transfer takes place in a controlled process or digitally, without any physical contact between employees and drivers

• The Courier Guy staff are required to stay at home if they show signs of illness..

The general level of hygiene has been increased significantly in all locations and guidelines have been drawn up in line with the authorities' recommendations. We however do not control the Covid protocol of The Courier Guy and will not be liable for any Covid-19 malpractice committed by their employees
